My inspiration behind this piece was of nostalgic memories of by-gone days picking cosmos and wild flowers. I wanted to capture a moment with nature, set in a field of cosmos, that conjures up memories of childhood and carefree innocence. Using oil paints, I created a soft bokeh style background to emphasize the delicate cosmos, applying vivid greens, yellows and purples together with the play of light within the pale petals.
