Artists Inspiration & Process:
My second painting in the cosmos series, following on from ‘Reminiscence’, continues with the inspiration to capture nostalgic moments and memories of innocence. The bokeh technique I love to use was once again applied, creating the soft background to emphasize the delicate cosmos set against vivid greens, yellows and splashes of purple. Further focus was given to the gentle play of light within the pale petals through subtle glazes and layers of oil. This painting compliments ‘Reminiscence’ beautifully, forming a striking diptych if presented alongside each other.
