Artists Inspiration & Process:

Cherry blossoms symbolize the transient nature of life, as they bloom only for a short period each year. They often represent beauty, renewal, and the ephemeral nature of existence.

Using oils and painting in sections across this large canvas, I first painted the bokeh style background to accentuate the fragility of the cherry blossoms, which were painted last. This piece was once again inspired by the traditional Japanese custom of Hanami, portraying a spirit of evanescence and fleeting beauty.
