Artists Inspiration & Process:
Floral Whisper captures the quiet, fleeting beauty of a flowers in bloom - a gathering that seems to have arrived naturally, almost as if carried in on a gentle breeze.
Soft blush pinks, lilacs and warm peach tones unfold amongst layers of sage, eucalyptus and deeper greens. The flowers are expressive rather than perfectly defined, with loose, gestural brushwork allowing petals, leaves and stems to dissolve and reappear within the composition. There is a sense of movement throughout the painting, as though the bouquet is gently breathing.
I wanted to capture the feeling of flowers rather than simply their appearance - that moment when colour, light, texture and fragrance seem to come together and hold your attention. The more delicate details invite you to look closely, while the looser passages allow the imagination to wander.
For me, Floral Whisper is about quiet beauty and the moments that are easily missed - a soft conversation between flowers, in a language that doesn’t need words.
