Artists Inspiration & Process:
I have a deep love for birds and wanted to capture a stork in nature, surrounded by thick, luscious woodland - fleeting, alert and deeply connected to the environments they inhabit. The wilderness carries a sense of mystery and autonomy, where woodland feels older than human memory and the air itself feels charged with quiet meaning.
The stork forms the centre of this work: not as a subject to be studied, but as a presence that moves between worlds: earth, air, silence and motion - a fragment of a larger ecosystem that cannot be seperated into parts.
I see wildlife not as something distant, but as something we are still connected to, even if we have forgotten how to listen. This painting offers a way of returning to that conection.
